RT @chuckhemann @Marc_Meyer: Listening was the new black in 2009. Doing something w/ that listening needs to be the new black in 2010 #sm40
RT @ScottHepburn: Social Media and Regulated Industries: Join the discussion at 12p EST for #socialmedia chat.
RT @tsiles: CNN Q&A with @shelisrael "In Twitterville, the details of your life do matter," http://bit.ly/4aYSv0 #socialmedia
RT @Marc_Meyer: #socialmedia is on for today at noon. Your host? Michael Brito aka @britopian, social media strategist from Intel
I missed most of the #socialmedia chat today, but I love that @ShannonPaul just referenced Ani DiFranco in a response! :)
From the blog: The anatomy of a hashtag chat (inspired by #journchat, #gno, #smbiz, #socialmedia etc): http://bit.ly/3BNks
@Marc_Meyer What's next week's topic? This was my second chat -- and I love them!! :) #socialmedia
@JasonFalls Nice job moderating today! Way to get us out of the echo-chamber and into some real dialogue! :) #socialmedia
Q3: I don't think you can only connect to a brand online. If offline product sucks, who cares about SM connectivity? #socialmedia
OK, had to step out of convo. Stepping back in. What's the current question? #socialmedia
You're "in-network" when the network practively engages you -- seeks you out, asks for help, helps you spread message, etc. #socialmedia
@JasonFalls Yes, more than just sales. Also, a cust service, education, operations, etc. Co needs to know *why* SM, then how. #socialmedia
@JasonFalls Can't a person on SM for a brand be an extension of PR? Building awareness, goodwill, "softening mkt" for sales #socialmedia
Q1: Don't be salesy. Listen, get feedback, offer value. PPl have to trust the messenger. Then they'll trust the message. #socialmedia
Getting ready for the #socialmedia chat w/ @jasonfalls at noon. Join us?
RT @Marc_Meyer: Todays #socialmedia Unpanel is about how Brands network with their customers. the host? @jasonfalls Join us at noon eastern
@dannybrown Thanks for moderating! I missed the last half, but the first part was great! Will have to join in next week, too! #socialmedia
Good point ... RT @FischerBJ: @PRtini It depends on the issue...sometimes, only the CEO will do. #socialmedia
Interesting how many ppl think CEO must be spokesman. What if they're terrible on camera? Can other internal rep fill in? #socialmedia
@dannybrown Ones that impact public/customers/stakeholders. Final team may need to shift depending on specific situation #socialmedia
@jasonbreed If ur working w an agency, include on the team, which also needs internal ppl. 3rd-party perspective can be helpful #socialmedia
@amandagbeals Strong, smart leadership is key, IMO #socialmedia
Q2 Response team needs to include a cross-section of the co. Crisis needs to be addressed from all angles, not just media. #socialmedia
RT @dannybrown: @wordymouth Keep the plan flexible though - unflexible just as bad as no plan at all :) #socialmedia
@amandagbeals What do you mean by that? #socialmedia
@dannybrown What Q # are we on now? :) #socialmedia
@amandagbeals Some cos are transparent, while others are closed; some quick to respond, others have lots of approval levels etc #socialmedia
@dannybrown Co size doesn't matter as much as culture, flexibility, understanding of role of communication. #socialmedia
@howisthebiz Thta's a really good point. Crisis PR is a totally different ball game. Different way of thinking ... #socialmedia
@dannybrown They don't think a crisis will happen to them, or they'll just deal w/ it when it does. Naive thinking if u ask me #socialmedia
Q1: Plan = Response/strategy/team roadmap to guide crisis responses. Must have plan b4 crisis hits (even though most don't) #socialmedia
Who's in? RT @Marc_Meyer: About ready to go. @dannybrown leads Unpanel #5 about the role of #socialmedia and PR in Crisis Communications
@dannybrown Ha! I'm sure you'll be great! :) #socialmedia
@dannybrown I had no idea this #socialmedia chat even existed! Looking forward to following along today.
@MackCollier @BlazeDaDragon If SM litmus is customers, do you miss opps to monitor trends, internal comm, operations, etc? #socialmedia
