@dannybrown Great job moderating and running the #socialmedia chat! Don't know how you kept up with everyone.
@dannybrown Yes, great summary! #socialmedia
@dannybrown I think the best "back up" comm. plan is to have tons of public goodwill toward your company. #socialmedia
@wordymouth #socialmedia Wow really? That's a big gamble. Good for them!
@dannybrown @wordymouth Ah, so they have the cash there on standby. Lame. :/ #socialmedia
RT @AmandaGBeals: @dannybrown i think this blends crisis comms and biz ethics #socialmedia Great point!
@wordymouth #socialmedia Didn't know Ford wasn't accepting the money. Good for them! (Hope they don't bankrupt.)
@concierge But which one was the first to say they were driving instead? Besides, they should have flown coach. :) #socialmedia
@dannybrown #socialmedia I think all three came out looking bad. Can't think of a clear winner or loser.
RT @wordymouth Know your strategy, then fit your tactics to meet the need. You know how to communicate? You know enough. #socialmedia
@AmandaGBeals Good point that getting ahold of ceo is not quick. #socialmedia
@amandagbeals Great question! Don't know. Ex: Target employee falls = too small. Target employee shoots manager = too late. #socialmedia
@amandagbeals It's too bad that CEOs of big corps don't care. Car Co. CEOs asking US for money while on private jets. Sad. #socialmedia
@dannybrown True, that is unfortunate. But there are examples of great CEOs like @zappos @hulu etc. who are humble. #socialmedia
@dannybrown Well then they need to learn to be more liked. Isn't that one of the responsibilities of the CEO? #socialmedia
IMHO, in a crisis, people like to hear from the top, not from PR firms. #socialmedia
Personally I think that whomever owns the public face of the company owns the crisis plan. I love it when CEOs respond. #socialmedia
Oh, there is a question order? Didn't realize! #socialmedia
@amandagbeals Agreed, but with many small biz you don't have to worry. #socialmedia does make it more difficult to communicate early!
@dannybrown Good point. Agreed. Still better to get info out to emp's ASAP. Bad to find out about firing, etc. on evening news. #socialmedia
@dannybrown It's also important that employees find out about bad or breaking news before the media. #socialmedia
@dannybrown Yes, every single employee should know who in the company speaks to the media. More in a sec. #socialmedia
@dannybrown Good question. You can probably overplan, but I doubt it. Employees should know what to do when media calls, etc. #socialmedia
@dannybrown Plain caution, definitely. Could be anything: rogue employee, flood, fire, worker accident, etc. #socialmedia
IMHO, businesses need a crisis comm. plan b/c it's not a ? of "if" something will go wrong, but "when" will something go wrong. #socialmedia
RT @dannybrown: Ready to share crisis communication best practices today 12.00 noon EST? http://bit.ly/1256MS #socialmedia
@dannybrown Great topic Danny! @powerofgoodwill in Kansas City has tons of crisis comm. experience. I'll tell her about it! #socialmedia
